Asnuntuck Community College Advanced Manufacturing Center

Downes Construction Company was the Construction Administrator on the new 27,000 sf new manufacturing technology center at Asnuntuck Community College. This new freestanding, high bay building houses the best manufacturing technology training center in the New England Region. 

The machinery ranges from fundamental milling, turning and grinding to high tech CNC and additive 3-D printing/manufacturing systems. 

Sustainable design features in the building include reclaimed end grain wood flooring, precast concrete exterior walls, and energy efficient MEP systems. 

Renovation of their past Manufacturing Center was also awarded to Downes to upgrade the facility to modern standards based on the new building.
