Downes Construction Company was the Construction Administrator on the new 27,000-square-foot manufacturing technology center at Asnuntuck Community College. This new freestanding, high-bay building houses the best manufacturing technology training center in the New England region.
The machinery ranges from fundamental milling, turning, and grinding to high tech CNC and additive 3-D printing/manufacturing systems.
Sustainable design features in the building include reclaimed end-grain wood flooring, precast concrete exterior walls, and energy-efficient MEP systems.
Renovation of their past Manufacturing Center was also awarded to Downes to upgrade the facility to modern standards based on the new building.
