Downes Construction Company was hired as the Construction Manager at Risk for the renovation and expansion of Willard and DiLoreto Halls at CCSU. This project creates a new commons filled with natural light that provides the campus with a one-stop Student Services center. The design adds a 35,000 sf infill building between two existing academic centers totaling 105,000 sf. Ongoing communication with campus staff to minimize disruption to learning, and coordination of site logistics for student safety, are two key project goals.
The project conforms to all applicable building, fire safety, health, and safety codes, as well as a LEED Silver Certification.
