Hartford Hospital Employee Parking Garage

Downes was selected as the Construction Manager for Hartford Hospital’s Hudson Street employee parking garage, one of the initial phases to Hartford Hospital’s “2020” revitalization program. This new nine-level parking structure provides essential on-site parking for employees.

The project was set in a tight urban environment and required a deep foundation system to overcome the challenges of Hartford’s existing soil conditions. Replete with functionality, this garage includes 1,250 parking spaces, electric vehicle charging stations, and an employee fitness center. The aesthetically pleasing parking structure is highlighted by three-dimensional precast panels clad in select locations with colored perforated panels and stainless steel mesh. The end result not only met the highest standards of quality, but is also attractive, functional, and represents significant aspect of the hospital’s revitalization plan.
