Verplanck Elementary School

The purpose of this project was to meet the education related space requirements and design, construct additions, and renovate an existing elementary school facility to create an 83,000 sf facility to satisfy the requirements of the Manchester Board of Education Specifications.

The project consisted of renovations, code & ADA upgrades to the existing school building and the construction of the new 20,000 sf additions to create additional classrooms, small group, special education, art, music, band, orchestra, pupil services, and an expansion to the cafeteria.

The renovations included, but were not limited to, selective demolition, exterior envelope improvements, all new interior partitions, finishes, MEP/FP systems. Additionally, extensive sitework was constructed as part of the overall project and included the following: a new parking area, a new rear access driveway, and the main entrance drive way was aligned with the public road to improve safety and traffic flows.
