WCSU Higgins Hall

Located on WCSU’s midtown campus in Danbury, two separate buildings, Higgins Hall & Higgins Annex, have been fully reprogrammed and renovated into one facility. This 85,000SF project included classrooms, offices and other support areas. A new “Academic Success Center” is the building’s highlight, an area where students receive the knowledge, tools and resources for current academic and future career success.

Math, communication, computer science and foreign language departments are now co-located in Higgins and the design reflects group-work space to encourage student and professor collaboration. The ultimate goal is that the building becomes a large assembly area for students to explore synergies between science and math.

The project also included a full renovation of HVAC and plumbing, a new roof, and High Performance Building Systems (HPBS) designation, equivalent to LEED Silver.
