Yale University saw the need for a modern structure that could meet the tennis team’s practice regiment while concurrently providing a world class facility for tournaments and member use. Through generous donations by Yale Alumni, this vision moved toward reality when Downes Construction was selected as the Construction Manager for the $10.9 million renovation and addition to the existing Cullman Courts.
The new 67,000 sf Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center included an architecturally impressive main entrance leading to a lobby connecting eight courts, renovated team lockers, coach’s offices, extensive viewing areas, and member lockers enhancing the experience from both a user and visitor perspective.
